Affidavit: 2 teens arrested, charged with aggravated robbery in connection to South Side shooting

Two teenagers have been charged with aggravated robbery after police said they allegedly shot and attempted to rob another teen on the South Side, according to a arrest affidavit.

Court records show Jacob Viesca and Samuel Mendoza, both 17, face one count of aggravated robbery.

Mendoza also faces one count of deadly conduct of a firearm in connection with the alleged shooting, according to records.

The encounter happened just before 1 a.m. on Sept. 8 on in the 900 block of Bynum and Briggs Avenue, located near Southwest Military Drive.
