Texas Rises to No. 1 in AP Top 25 After Stunning Ohio State Comeback

Texas has climbed to No. 1 in the latest AP Top 25 college football rankings following a dramatic 24-23 victory over previously top-ranked Ohio State.
The Longhorns erased a 20-point fourth-quarter deficit, scoring 21 unanswered points to complete one of the biggest comebacks ever against an AP No. 1 team.
Texas moved up three positions to take the top spot, while Ohio State fell to No. 6 following the loss.
The new rankings also produced a major shakeup elsewhere. Oregon plunged 15 places to No. 21 after a stunning 39-31 loss to Oklahoma State, while Michigan returned to the Top 25 at No. 19.
Georgia sits at No. 2, followed by Notre Dame at No. 3, Indiana at No. 4 and Miami at No. 5.
The dramatic changes have triggered heavy interest in the latest college football rankings as the 2026 season enters Week 3.
