Massive Fire Engulfs Dalton Mills Landmark in Keighley, Yorkshire

A massive fire has broken out at Dalton Mills in Keighley, West Yorkshire, sending flames through the historic former mill and prompting road closures and warnings for nearby residents to keep windows and doors shut.
Emergency crews were called to the disused landmark on Saturday evening as the blaze spread through the building.
Dalton Lane closed as firefighters battle blaze
West Yorkshire Police said Dalton Lane has been closed to all traffic while West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service works to bring the fire under control.
Police urged people to stay away from the area and advised residents living nearby to keep doors and windows closed because of smoke from the fire.
Historic mill has suffered previous major fires
Dalton Mills is one of Keighley’s best-known industrial landmarks and has been hit by several serious fires in recent years.
In March 2022, more than 100 firefighters were deployed to tackle a major blaze at the same site.
The cause of Saturday’s fire was not immediately known, and authorities had not announced any injuries in the initial reports.
