Saboteurs suspected in train derailment that injured 44 and left passengers in ‘state of shock’, French police say

French police suspect sabotage was behind a train derailment which left 44 people injured, including one in critical condition, last night.

A train carrying 186 passengers was derailed, with one carriage overturning completely, between the cities of Rouen and Caen in northern France on Friday, at around 7.45pm local time.

The train went off the rails close to a Renault factory in the town of Cleon in Normandy, after hitting a 'massive section of rail' found on the track by investigators.
