Intruder shot and killed during home invasion, his alleged accomplice is facing charges

A man is dead after police say he and an accomplice broke into a home, triggering a violent fight.

According to an arrest affidavit, Devonta Johnson and Zarian Sanders went to an apartment in Memphis to see the mother of Johnson’s child.

The pair allegedly kicked open the front door, which had been barricaded with a couch.

Investigators said the two men entered a bedroom and began beating a male victim. During the assault, Johnson pulled out a handgun.
