‘No claim of danger to force’ — IDF on footage of soldier shooting Palestinian in legs

The IDF Spokesperson addressed footage showing a soldier firing from a distance at the legs of a Palestinian who was standing in front of him in the area of the village of Faqqu'a near Jenin, stating that "initial questioning of commanders reveals that the friction began when several Palestinians gathered around a shepherd in the area." It was further stated that "an IDF force of regular combat soldiers who reinforced the sector during the holiday arrived at the location, and then warning shots were fired in the air, followed by fire at the lower body.

The reason for the shooting is still under investigation, and at this stage there is no claim in the IDF that the shooting was carried out due to danger posed to the force."
