RRSO deputy facing prosecution has died

A Red River Parish sheriff’s deputy who was pending prosecution for negligent homicide has died.

At the time of the crash, Pikes was headed to a house fire that ultimately led to a man’s death.
Cause of fire under investigation
The Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the death of Asia Pikes late Wednesday on its Facebook page. Her cause of death was not disclosed.
Pikes, 24, was indicted in June 2025 in connection with a Feb. 22, 2025 crash that led to the death of Ella Winn, 70, of Coushatta.
