Gaston County Shooting: 2 Reported Killed, 3 Injured as Suspect Flees

At least two people were killed and three others injured in a shooting at a home in Gaston County, North Carolina, on Thursday, September 10, according to sources cited by WBT News. 

The shooting happened in the 2600 block of Forbes Road, near Highway 321. WBT reported that the gunman fled the scene and, citing police, said the suspect may have headed toward Charlotte. The conditions of the surviving victims were not immediately available. 

Police Urge Public to Avoid the Area

Police said the shooting was reported shortly before 8:45 a.m. Officers found four people with gunshot wounds inside the home and began lifesaving efforts, according to an initial police statement reported by WBTV. 

That initial statement did not confirm any deaths or provide information about the shooter. WBT’s report of five victims, including two fatalities, differs from the initial police count of four wounded people. The available reports did not explain the difference. 

Authorities urged the public to stay away from the Forbes Road area while the investigation continued.
