Video: One Killed, 20 Injured After Train Hits Cement Truck in Poland

A passenger train carrying approximately 120 people collided with a cement mixer truck and derailed in Poland, killing one passenger and injuring at least 20 others.

Train Derails Near Przysucha

The collision occurred at a railway crossing in Sokolniki Suche, near the town of Przysucha and around 100 kilometers south of Warsaw.

The PKP Intercity train was operating between Lublin and Szczecin when it struck the truck. The locomotive and six carriages derailed, with parts of the train overturning following the impact.

Four People Seriously Injured

Emergency services confirmed that at least 20 people were injured, including four who suffered serious injuries.

The train driver and the cement truck driver were among those hurt. Firefighters reportedly had to free the truck driver after he became trapped inside the vehicle.

Emergency crews, ambulances and rescue helicopters were deployed to the scene as passengers were evacuated from the damaged train.

Investigation Into Deadly Collision

Rail traffic through the area was suspended while authorities examined the wreckage and began investigating how the truck entered the crossing.

Replacement transportation was arranged for affected passengers as recovery operations continued.
