Staunton man charged with murder confessed to police

STAUNTON — A man accused of fatally stabbing a woman in Staunton two weekends ago reportedly told police “I did it,” according to court records.

The killing took place Aug. 30 at a home on Orchard Avenue. Court records have also identified the victim for the first time.

Following the slaying, the Staunton Police Department announced the arrest of Freddi Chigo Mil, 32, of Staunton, on charges of second-degree murder and malicious wounding.
