Billings, Montana PD allows people to return following N. 23rd Street and 1st Avenue N. shooting

BILLINGS, Montana — Billings Police Department is asking that the public avoid the area at N. 23rd Street and 1st Avenue N due to a shooting.

Officials stated that both officers and SWAT have left the Monroe St. area after not locating their suspect.

There is no current threat to the public due to the existing relationship between the victim and suspect.

Officers say they are still looking for a suspect following a shooting near downtown Billings on Sunday.

Officials stated that people who were evacuated or kept out of the area can return to their homes.

An active crime scene is still ongoing, but there is no longer a threat to the public.

At the moment, Billings Police department are not releasing the identity of the subject to protect investigation integrity.
