Germany Power Grid Sabotage: Launch Devices Found Near Weisweiler Plant

German police discovered multiple suspected launch devices positioned near a high-voltage power line close to the Weisweiler power plant in North Rhine-Westphalia on Monday.

The discovery followed reports of a suspicious person near the plant, prompting authorities to seal off the surrounding area and temporarily close part of the A4 motorway.

Police are searching for a 48-year-old man from Gevelsberg who allegedly claimed responsibility for several recent sabotage attempts targeting Germany’s electricity infrastructure.

Investigators are examining whether the newly discovered devices are connected to earlier incidents in Weisweiler, Dormagen, Bergheim and other parts of Germany. No major power outage was immediately reported.
