Southern University reports second power outage this week as crews make repairs

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Southern University said its Baton Rouge campus is experiencing intermittent power outages as crews make repairs following a transformer outage.

In a notice sent Sunday evening, the university said internet and Wi-Fi service may also be temporarily interrupted.

Southern advised students, employees, and visitors to use caution while moving throughout campus, particularly in areas where lighting, elevators, traffic signals, or other electrical systems could be affected.

The university said crews are working to complete the necessary repairs and that updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
