47-Year-Old Man Shot in Back Inside Bronx Apartment Building

A 47-year-old man was shot in the back inside an apartment building in the Melrose section of the Bronx on Saturday, after an argument with another person turned violent, according to police.

The shooting happened shortly before noon at 508 East 163rd Street.

Victim Expected to Recover

Paramedics rushed the wounded man to Lincoln Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Shooter Flees Building

Police said the gunman fled the apartment building immediately after the shooting.

A description of the suspect was not immediately available.

No Arrests Made

No arrests had been announced as investigators continued working to determine what led to the dispute and identify the shooter.

The investigation remains ongoing.
