72-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Golf Cart Traffic Stop in Coos County, Oregon

FLORENCE, Oregon — COOS COUNTY, Ore. — A 72-year-old woman was arrested Friday afternoon in Coos County after a sheriff’s deputy stopped a golf cart and learned she had an outstanding warrant, authorities said.
Arrest and charges
At 3:53 p.m. Friday, Sept.
4, a Coos County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputy was near the intersection of Libby Lane and Crown Point Road when he observed a purple and pink golf cart traveling westbound on Libby Lane.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as 72-year-old Rennie Strebendt.
Strebendt said she was on her way to Charleston, but the North Coos Dispatch Center advised she had a valid warrant for her arrest out of Florence, Oregon.
Strebendt was transported to the Coos County Jail on the outstanding warrant.
