Tyler, Texas man arrested after gun fired in College Station bar

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KLTV) – A Tyler man is facing multiple charges after officers say a shot was fired inside a College Station nightclub.

Arrest and charges

Trey Wheeler, 19, of Tyler, was arrested Saturday night in College Station.

According to the College Station Police Department, officers responded to a nightclub in the 100 block of College Main Street after hearing a shot fired from inside the club.

He was immediately detained, and a gun was retrieved from his waistband, according to police.

Both firearms were seized as evidence in the case.

Charges and court proceedings

Further investigation revealed Wheeler had a second firearm while inside the club that was misplaced prior to the gunshot being fired, according to police.

Wheeler has been charged with public intoxication, two counts of unlawfully carrying a weapon, two counts of unlawfully carrying a weapon in a prohibited place, deadly conduct, disorderly conduct, and failure to identify and giving false information.

The CSPD said nearby officers pushed through the crowds, entered the club and located Wheeler.
