UPDATE: 4 Killed, 20 Wounded in Israeli Strikes on Southern Lebanon After Hezbollah Drone Attack

At least four people were killed and 20 others wounded, including three children, in Israeli airstrikes across southern Lebanon on Sunday, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, after Israel said Hezbollah launched two drones toward its troops.

The strikes hit areas in the Nabatieh district, including Arab Salim and Nabatieh al-Fawqa, as another sharp escalation unfolded despite the ceasefire arrangements between Israel and Hezbollah.

Two Women Killed in Arab Salim

Two women were killed in a strike on Arab Salim after the Israeli military issued an advance warning for residents near a building it said was being used by Hezbollah.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported that another house was struck following the warning, before the building identified by Israel was also targeted.

Two More Killed Near Israeli-Held Security Zone

Two men were killed in another strike near the edge of the area Israel has declared a security zone in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese Health Ministry said the attacks also left 20 people wounded, including women and three children, across several locations.

Hospital Damaged in Nabatieh al-Fawqa

A strike in Nabatieh al-Fawqa damaged the Ghandour Hospital, which Lebanese reports said had already been out of service.

Images from southern Lebanon showed heavy smoke rising above targeted areas as residents gathered near damaged buildings following the attacks.

Israel Says Strikes Followed Hezbollah Drone Launches

The Israeli military said the operation came after Hezbollah launched two drones toward Israeli soldiers operating inside the security zone.

Israel said one of the drones was intercepted and reported no injuries among its troops.

The latest strikes represent another significant escalation along the Israel-Lebanon front as tensions remain high despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent a broader confrontation. (reuters.com)
