Arrest and charges

The Albany County Sheriff's Office says members of the Sheriff's Community Oriented Policing Effort (SCOPE) arrested 33-year-old Manuel Tejada after a reckless driving incident on Hudson Avenue in Albany.

It happened around 12:00 a.m. when Sheriff's Deputies were patrolling the area, they observed Tejada was operating a 2022 Kawasaki motorcycle at a high rate of speed and performing wheelies along Hudson Ave.

At the time, the roadway and sidewalks were congested with pedestrians, creating a risk to public safety.

Charges and court proceedings

Tejada was charged with Reckless Driving (an unclassified misdemeanor) and multiple vehicle and traffic infractions.

He was released on uniform traffic tickets and is to appear in the City of Albany Criminal Court on a later date.
