Teen Shot Dead Outside Dover CAVA Restaurant; Police Seek Tips

An 18-year-old Dover man was shot dead outside the CAVA restaurant on North DuPont Highway, prompting a homicide investigation and an appeal for information.

Foster Trader Found With Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Dover police received multiple reports of gunfire at approximately 9:47 p.m. Friday at the restaurant located at 1037 North DuPont Highway.

Responding officers found Foster Trader, 18, lying on the sidewalk in front of CAVA with multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers immediately began providing emergency medical assistance. Trader was pronounced dead at approximately 10:04 p.m.

Investigators Recover Spent Cartridge Casings

Police secured the area as detectives processed the scene and collected evidence.

Investigators recovered multiple spent cartridge casings and are reviewing other available evidence connected to the fatal shooting.

No Arrests or Suspect Description Released

No arrests have been made, and police have not released a description of a suspect or possible getaway vehicle.

Detectives are investigating what led to the shooting and whether any events preceded the attack.
