Earthquake Strikes Off Mexico’s Chiapas Coast Near Puerto Madero

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck off Mexico’s Chiapas coast at approximately 6:28 a.m. local time Tuesday.

Earthquake Centered Southwest of Puerto Madero

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded the earthquake about 71 kilometers west-southwest of Puerto Madero at a depth of 10 kilometers.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage.
