Erin Piacenti Identified as Bank of America VP Killed in Times Square Stabbing

Erin Piacenti, a 32-year-old Bank of America vice president from Chester, New Jersey, has been identified as the woman killed in the Times Square stabbing on August 31.

Who Was Erin Piacenti?

Erin Piacenti worked in Bank of America’s business selection and conflicts unit. The bank said it was shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of its valued colleague and extended condolences to her family and loved ones.

Random Stabbing in Times Square

Police said Pamela Cisneros pulled two knives from a bag near West 41st Street and Seventh Avenue and stabbed a 68-year-old man in the abdomen.

Around 20 seconds later, Cisneros allegedly stabbed Piacenti in a separate and apparently random attack.

Both victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital, where Piacenti was pronounced dead. The male victim remained hospitalized in stable condition.

NYPD Officers Confronted the Suspect

Officers confronted Cisneros near the NYPD substation in Times Square and repeatedly ordered her to drop the knives.

Police said officers deployed Tasers before opening fire as Cisneros continued advancing while armed. She was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Authorities described the Times Square stabbing as random and unprovoked and said there was no indication that it was related to terrorism.
