LIVE Mayor Johnson: CHICAGO.JOHNSON, Washington — Mayor Brandon Johnson is visiting Washington Park Tuesday to promote an Emergency Assistance Center for people affected by gun violence following a violent Labor Day weekend in Chicago.Johnson was scheduled to speak at the Center around 9:30 a.m. as city officials announced the services that will be available when it opens to the public Thursday.The visit follows a violent Labor Day weekend in Chicago in which at least 41 people were shot, including three people who died.

Among the shootings was a mass shooting Saturday night during a reunion celebration in Washington Park that wounded 14 people and killed 35-year-old Rontonio Guterz.Johnson, Ald.
