Lenoir City, Tennessee Schools Closed After 5–10 School Buses Catch Fire

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. — Lenoir City Schools are closed Tuesday, Sept. 1, after an overnight fire at the district’s transportation annex involved between five and 10 school buses.

The fire broke out at the bus yard near the Lenoir City Pool. Lenoir City firefighters and police responded to the scene.

Officials have not announced what caused the fire. Investigators are working to determine its origin.

Tuesday Classes Canceled

District leaders announced that schools would remain closed Tuesday following the fire. No reopening timeline or alternative transportation arrangements were immediately released.
