Three Bay Area, Alaska residents killed in remote Alaska plane crash

THREE BAY AREA, Alaska — Three Bay Area residents were among four people killed in a plane crash this week, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Three Bay Area residents died in Alaska this week after a plane carrying four passengers crashed into the water, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers extracted Lance Schmidt, 20, Ronald Schmidt, 65, and Daniel Simons, 82, from the crashed plane Wednesday evening.

Lance and Ronald Schmidt were San Jose residents, and Simons was from Los Gatos, NBC Bay Area reported Saturday. The relationship between the Schmidts was not immediately clear.
