Latest Update, Says 2 charged after shots fired in home on May Drive, Burlington police

BURLINGTON, North Carolina — Two people are facing charges after shots were fired inside a home early Saturday morning, according to the Burlington Police Department.

Officers responded to a home in the 2300 block of May Drive around 3:15 a.m. following reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found Matthew Thompson, 53, in the driveway. Police said Thompson followed officers' instructions and was taken into custody without incident.

During the investigation, officers found a firearm in Thompson's possession and illegal drugs inside the home.
