Eden, North Carolina Walmart parking lot shooting leaves one critically hurt

EDEN, North Carolina — A man has been arrested after a shooting in a Walmart parking lot in Eden left one person critically injured, according to the Eden Police Department.

Police said officers responded around 6:24 p.m. Thursday to Walmart after receiving a report of shots fired in the parking lot.

About six minutes later, officers received a report of a gunshot victim at UNC Rockingham. Investigators determined the two incidents were connected.

Police identified Tahj Jaquan Thomas as a suspect in the shooting. After consulting with the Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Thomas.
