Couple Found Dead in Jacuzzi in Spain: Foul Play Ruled Out

A couple found dead in a jacuzzi at their Spanish holiday villa were not victims of foul play, investigators have concluded following autopsies.

Thomasina McArdle, 45, from Ireland, and New Zealand national Patrick Tobin, 50, were discovered by their children, aged 16 and 14, at a villa in Cullera near Valencia.

Investigators Examine Possible Accidental Deaths

Post-mortem findings reportedly indicate that McArdle died first and Tobin lost his life while attempting to pull her from the water.

Investigators are examining several possible causes, including a jacuzzi malfunction, electric shock, toxic fumes or a sudden medical emergency. Laboratory test results are expected to take several weeks.

Police found no signs of forced entry or suspicious activity around the property.
