Man hospitalized after small plane crashes in Big Bear

A man was hospitalized after a small plane crashed in a field near the Big Bear airport Thursday evening, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Dispatchers received numerous calls reporting the plane crash at approximately 6:18 p.m., authorities said.

Upon arrival, deputies found a small, fixed-wing, single-engine aircraft that had crashed nose-down in a field just east of the airport.
