Body Found in Plane Wheel Well at Kuala Lumpur Airport

A body was found inside the wheel well of an aircraft shortly after it arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 from Tokyo, Japan, on Thursday morning.

Engineering personnel discovered the unidentified person at approximately 6:55 a.m., about 25 minutes after the aircraft landed at KLIA2.

Foul Smell Led to Discovery

An engineering staff member assigned to open the aircraft’s landing gear compartment noticed a suspicious foul smell coming from the wheel well.

Upon opening the compartment, the employee discovered the body and immediately alerted the KLIA2 police station operations room.

Victim Believed to Be in Their 20s

Preliminary findings indicated that the deceased was likely in their 20s and may have been dead for more than 72 hours.

The person was reportedly wearing jeans and a white shirt. No identification documents were found, and the victim’s identity and gender have not yet been confirmed.

Malaysian Police Investigate

The Royal Malaysia Police Forensics Unit was deployed to examine the aircraft and recover evidence from the scene.

Investigators are working to establish the victim’s identity, determine the cause of death and discover how the person entered the aircraft’s wheel well.
