New wildfire spotted burning near Big Mountain in Utah County — Utah County, Utah

ELBERTA, Utah — A new wildfire was spotted burning on a mountainside near Elberta in Utah County.

A 2News viewer reported the fire burning Sunday afternoon on the east slope near an area known as Big Mountain.

Photos from Charles Wilson show smoke rising from the mountainside as the fire burns through vegetation.

As of Sunday afternoon, the fire had not been named by state fire officials, and no information had been released about its size, containment or cause.
