MANZANILLO, Mexico — Tropical Storm Iselle formed Sunday morning over the eastern Pacific Ocean, well off the southwestern coast of Mexico, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The NHC began issuing advisories on Iselle at 8 a.m. MST Sunday, making it the latest named storm of the 2026 eastern Pacific hurricane season.
Iselle Expected to Strengthen
Forecasters expect Iselle to strengthen over the next couple of days as it moves across warm Pacific waters.
The storm is forecast to briefly reach hurricane strength by Tuesday before encountering less favorable conditions and beginning to weaken.
Iselle is expected to remain well offshore, and no coastal tropical storm or hurricane watches or warnings were in effect with the first advisory.
