Dallas, Texas police investigate Deep Ellum shooting that left three injured

DALLAS, Texas — DALLAS – Three people were injured following an overnight shooting in the Deep Ellum neighborhood early Sunday, Dallas police said.

Officers responded around 1 a.m. to the scene on Elm Street, where they saw a vehicle driving away at a high rate of speed.

Shortly after, a passenger inside the fleeing vehicle called 911 to report that he had accidentally fired a gun inside the car and panicked, according to authorities.

Police later recovered the firearm and took the individual into custody for questioning.
