Sheriff: Two dead, one injured in strip mall shooting near I-65 — Indiana State, Indiana

INDIANA STATE, Indiana — Two people are dead and a third person is injured following a Saturday night shooting at a strip mall just east of the Interstate 65 and Indiana 2 interchange in an unincorporated Lowell, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.

Shortly after 7 p.m., Indiana State Police troopers and Lake County Sheriff’s Department officers responded to a call at Karmic Sunshine, an antiques and accessories shop located at 2996 W.

181st Avenue.

Preliminary investigation by police indicates that a 62-year-old man allegedly shot and killed a woman inside the store and wounded a second woman, 24, who was attempting to escape, the release stated.
