Fatal shooting on Temple Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts — CAMBRIDGE, MA — Authorities are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred Thursday evening on Temple Street.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Cambridge Police Commissioner Pauline Wells confirmed the incident in a joint statement.

Shortly after 8 p.m., Cambridge Police responded to a report of suspicious individuals in a loading dock and parking area behind local businesses.

Preliminary information indicates that during the response, a man in his 60s exited a vehicle and allegedly pointed a firearm at officers.
