Storm Details

Doppler radar showed the first batch of showers and thunderstorms have moved out of the Downtown Charleston area. These storms dropped between 1 and 2 inches of rain across the peninsula resulting in some flash flooding. City officials report some roads are flooded and closed. Additional showers and thunderstorms could move into the warning area through 930 PM, possibly resulting in more flash flooding

Potential Impact

Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Downtown Charleston, West Ashley, Daniel Island, James Island, Johns Island, Charles Towne Landing, Charleston Naval Complex and Maybank Bridge. This includes the following highways. I-26 between mile markers 215 and 221. I-526 between mile markers 11 and 17. and between mile markers 23 and 28

The warning covers Berkeley and Charleston Counties in South Carolina.
