Tornado Warning Issued for Elyria, Cleveland Hopkins Airport and Strongsville, Ohio

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Tornado Warning is in effect for parts of the Cleveland metropolitan area Saturday afternoon, including Elyria, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and Strongsville, until 5:30 p.m. EDT.
The National Weather Service said the tornado threat is radar indicated, meaning rotation capable of producing a tornado has been detected within the storm.
Warning Covers Cleveland-Area Communities
The warning area includes Elyria, Sheffield, Avon, North Ridgeville, Westlake, Berea, Strongsville and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
Approximately 367,000 people are within the warning area.
Quarter-Size Hail Possible
In addition to the tornado threat, the storm is capable of producing quarter-size hail.
People within the warning area should move immediately to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and stay away from windows.
Travelers at or near Cleveland Hopkins International Airport should follow instructions from airport and emergency officials.
