Brief Funnel Clouds Reported Near Steward, Illinois as Severe Storm Rotates

STEWARD, Ill. — Brief funnel clouds were reported near Steward, Illinois, Friday evening as an organized severe thunderstorm showed signs of rotation.

Storm chaser Brandon Copic reported a low rotating wall cloud with several brief funnels while tracking the storm. No ground contact has been confirmed, and there was no confirmed tornado at the time of the report.

Residents near Steward and surrounding communities should remain alert as rapidly rotating severe thunderstorms can occasionally produce tornadoes with little warning.
