Karen Solomon Wanted on Assault Charge as Worcester Manhunt Continues

WORCESTER, Mass. — Karen Solomon is now wanted on an arrest warrant for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon as authorities continue searching for her following the death of her husband, Worcester Police Officer Kurt Solomon.

Worcester police announced the new charge late Friday afternoon, marking a significant development in the search that began Tuesday.

Arrest Warrant Issued

Police said the 58-year-old Solomon is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Authorities continue to consider her armed and dangerous and warned members of the public not to approach her.

Police have not publicly detailed the circumstances underlying the new assault charge.

Search Continues

Kurt Solomon, a 31-year veteran of the Worcester Police Department, was found dead at a Wildwood Avenue home Tuesday morning.

Karen Solomon had previously been identified as a suspect whom investigators wanted to question in connection with the case. The circumstances and cause of Kurt Solomon’s death have not been publicly disclosed.
