Five Homes Damaged, Roof Torn Off During Severe Storm in Lower Windsor Township, Pennsylvania

LOWER WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Five homes were damaged when powerful storms struck the same neighborhood in Lower Windsor Township, York County, on Thursday afternoon.

The damage occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Winding Way, according to York County emergency officials.

Roof torn from one home

One of the affected homes reportedly had its roof blown off and several windows shattered by the storm.

The extent of the damage to the other four homes was not immediately available. Officials were assessing the affected properties following the severe weather.

Tornado not yet confirmed

The damage was reported as tornado warnings and severe thunderstorms moved through the region.

However, officials had not confirmed that a tornado touched down in Lower Windsor Township. Preliminary weather reports classified nearby roof damage as thunderstorm wind damage.

A storm survey may be required to determine whether the destruction was caused by a tornado or powerful straight-line winds.
