Tornado Warning Issued for Bay Minette, Alabama, Until 4:45 PM CDT

A tornado warning is in effect for Bay Minette and parts of west-central Baldwin County, Alabama, until 4:45 p.m. CDT on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
The National Weather Service issued the warning at 3:57 p.m. after radar detected rotation in a severe thunderstorm located seven miles southeast of Creola.
The storm was moving northeast at approximately 15 mph. A tornado has not been confirmed on the ground, but residents inside the warning area should take shelter immediately.
Bay Minette in the storm’s path
The dangerous storm was forecast to approach Bay Minette around 4:20 p.m. CDT.
Residents should remain sheltered until the warning expires or emergency officials announce that the danger has passed.

Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and remain away from windows.
Anyone outdoors, inside a mobile home or traveling in a vehicle should move to the nearest substantial shelter and protect themselves from flying debris.
Flying debris could cause serious injuries. Damage to mobile homes, roofs, windows, vehicles and trees is also possible.
