Odessa, Missouri shooting suspect arrested after ramming patrol car, high-speed chase

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A suspect wanted in connection with a shooting in Odessa, Missouri, is behind bars Thursday morning after ramming a patrol car and leading deputies on chase through multiple communities.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said Brendan Freed, 36, of Bates City, was arrested Thursday in Lee’s Summit following a crash and a brief foot chase. Investigators described a dangerous series of events that led to his arrest just after 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 20.

Investigators said they received an alert from a Flock camera after deputies said it flagged Freed’s vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle in Peculiar and tried to stop it. They said Freed rammed his vehicle into a deputy’s patrol car and fled, speeding northbound onto I-49.
