The warning was issued at 4:15 AM local time and is scheduled to remain in effect until 7:15 AM local time. The NWS lists the alert severity as severe. Its urgency is listed as immediate. The event is classified as likely.

Storm Details

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly

Potential Impact

Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include. Columbia, Hohenwald, Centerville, Linden, Mount Pleasant, New Johnsonville, Hurricane Mills, Lobelville, Nunnelly, Kimmins, Pinewood, Pleasantville, Bucksnort, Gordonsburg, Lyles, Hampshire, Bon Aqua, Primm Springs and Williamsport. This includes the following highways. Interstate 40 between mile markers 136 and 162. Interstate 840 between mile markers 6 and 20

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
