REPUBLIC, Mo. (KY3) – The Republic Fire Department hosted a training session teaching firefighters how to respond to school bus accidents, a rare but serious type of motor vehicle crash. Members of the Willard, Battlefield, Brookline and Neosho fire departments also took part.

Firefighters used retired school buses donated by the Republic School District to practice cutting roofs and sidewalls, removing windows and seats, and creating new access points to reach passengers.
