Guru Nanak Food Bank, in partnership with Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib, has collected nearly $50,000 worth of essential supplies to support families and communities impacted by wildfires in Penticton, Summerland and the surrounding Okanagan region. The wildfire relief collection took place over three days, from Aug. 16 to Aug.
18, with community members generously donating essential items including diapers, baby food, baby and body wipes, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, over-the-counter medicines, feminine hygiene products, paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap and body wash. Today (Aug.
19) Guru Nanak Food Bank and Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib will send a trailer loaded with the collected supplies to Okanagan College in Penticton for distribution in support of those affected by the wildfires.
