A 23-year-old Florence man has been charged with attempted murder after investigators said he shot a person with an AR-15-style weapon at a Florence motel, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

Major Michael Nunn said Andre Lil Anson Jackson was arrested Monday by investigators with the Florence County Sheriff's Office and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The sheriff's office said the victim's condition wasn’t known at the time of its latest update. Investigators allege Jackson shot the victim with an AR-15-style weapon. Jackson is being held at the Florence County Detention Center without bond. The investigation remains ongoing.
