WILMINGTON, Del. (WKRC) – A man was located and taken into custody after he allegedly opened fire on a "camera affixed to a sign" with a shotgun.
According to the New Castle County Police, 64-year-old Kevin Smith, of Wilmington, Delaware, was arrested Saturday after police said he fired a shotgun, damaged a Delaware State Police camera and created a risk to nearby residents. 15 after receiving a report of a man walking along the roadway and firing a shotgun. Before officers arrived, they received a description of the suspect and later found him sitting on a swing in the front yard of a home, police said. He was unarmed when officers took him into custody without further incident.
Police identified the man as Smith. Investigators said Smith found a camera attached to a sign in the area and fired a shotgun at it, damaging the camera. Police later determined the camera belonged to Delaware State Police.
