What Happened

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The accused gunman in a deadly 2023 shooting is on trial in Randall County. Jose Luis Flores III is charged with two counts of murder and four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. On July 9, 2023, at around 12:54 a.m., police were sent to a shopping center near SW 45th and S Georgia Street on a shooting report.

When they arrived, they learned that there was a party at an event center in the shopping center and a fight broke out among the attendees. According to a media release from Amarillo Police Department, at some point during the fight, someone started shooting, killing two people and injuring others.
