Ohio Flood Warning Issued for Fairfield, Franklin and Licking Counties After 2–3 Inches of Rain

A Flood Warning has been issued for parts of Fairfield, Franklin and Licking counties in central Ohio until 8:00 a.m. EDT Sunday, after local law enforcement reported flooding as heavy rain continued across the area.

Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have already fallen, and flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying locations is imminent or already occurring.

Areas Under the Flood Warning

The warning covers northern Fairfield County, east-central Franklin County and southwestern Licking County.

Locations that may experience flooding include Reynoldsburg, Gahanna, Pataskala, Summit Station, Beechwood Trails, Etna and Kirkersville.

Flooding Reported

The National Weather Service issued the warning at 2:24 a.m. EDT Sunday after receiving reports of flooding from local law enforcement.

Drivers should avoid flooded roads, especially overnight when water covering streets can be difficult to see.
