Nevada Weather: Warming Trend Brings Higher Temperatures to Northern and Central Nevada This Weekend

Northern and Central Nevada will experience a warming trend this weekend, with temperatures climbing further on Sunday, August 16, according to the National Weather Service in Elko.
Temperatures rise across Nevada
High temperatures Saturday afternoon are expected to run several degrees warmer than the previous day across much of Northern and Central Nevada.
The National Weather Service forecast shows Saturday highs generally ranging from the upper 70s into the lower 90s, depending on location and elevation.
Sunday will be even warmer
Temperatures are forecast to rise another 2 to 4 degrees on Sunday afternoon, with several communities approaching or exceeding 90°F.
The NWS forecast indicates highs around 93°F in Winnemucca, 90°F in Elko and 90°F in Battle Mountain on Sunday.
Warming trend continues
The warmer conditions are associated with developing high pressure over the western United States, with generally dry weather expected as the warming trend continues into the beginning of the new week.
Residents spending extended periods outdoors should remain prepared for increasingly warm afternoon temperatures.
