FAA Warns of Possible Flight Delays at Major U.S. Airports Friday
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is warning travelers of possible flight delays at several major U.S. airports on Friday, August 14, as thunderstorms and low clouds threaten to disrupt air traffic operations.
Thunderstorm-related delays are possible at airports serving Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, Houston, Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix and Las Vegas.

The FAA identified the following airports where weather could affect arrivals and departures:

CLT – Charlotte
FLL – Fort Lauderdale
MIA – Miami
MCO – Orlando
TPA – Tampa
IAH and HOU – Houston

SLC – Salt Lake City
PHX – Phoenix
LAS – Las Vegas
Meanwhile, low clouds are forecast around Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO), potentially creating additional operational challenges.
